Tooth Fairy Corner
The Tooth Fairy would love to visit your
organization this fall! Keep your eyes peeled for her. She can
read stories or set up center activities geared toward children 3-5
years of age. If you're interested in a Tooth Fairy visit, contact
Heather McCreight, our ABCD Coordinator @ 785-312-7770 or (email@example.com)
to schedule a time!
We were there with bright smiles and cold water to
promote our annual fundraiser, 'Hoedown for Healthy Smiles'.

for the Community
Local organization 'aluminates' us with a donation!

for the Community
We save our aluminum cans here at the clinic for Cans for the Community.
On occasion, this effortless act of kindness pays back in big
dividends. Members of Cans for the Community came into our clinic
this summer and handed our director a donation. We appreciate their
support of our ongoing mission to promote healthy smiles in Douglas
County. Please thank them for us by saving your cans and sharing them
with this great organization!
Most of our staff changes are a result of former
staff heading back to school for degrees in Dental Hygiene and
Dentistry. As we bid them a fond farewell and wish them good luck, we
welcome those that have taken their place. Our newbies are excited
about their new positions and committed to helping our community
maintain great, ongoing oral health.
above Michelle Barnes, Katie Workman and Hannah Tazkargy
Katie Workman comes to us with several years of office experience both
at home and out in the community; most recently with Farmers
Insurance. She is our new Front Office Coordinator and looks forward
to meeting and working with those from the Douglas County community that
come into our clinic. DCDC is lucky to have such a warm and inviting
person welcome our patients. Katie and her three year old son love to
create art together. She also enjoys gardening, baking and spending
time with family hiking in the Colorado Mountains.
Michelle Barnes has been hired as the Outreach Coordinator for our
Friendly Smiles Program. She comes to us from the Lawrence Public
Schools where she worked for the past 13 years; most recently as a
Parent Liaison. As Outreach Coordinator, she will have the
opportunity to fulfill her passion of working with others in a new
capacity. Michelle will use her social work skills and her awareness
of the many services available in Douglas County to help DCDC
patients find solutions for their oral health care needs. When
she is not at work, Michelle loves to read and be in the great
outdoors. One of her favorite daily activities is walking her dog,
Ruskin. She is married and has two grown children. If given time
to vacation, she definitely prefers fun in the sun! She is very
excited to begin her new position here at DCDC!
Hannah Tazkargy worked as an intern last year for our ABCD program
and loved DCDC's committment to helping Douglas County residents
access oral health care. So much so, she jumped at the chance to take
on a new challenge as a dental assistant. This will be good training
for her as she is in the process of applying to dental school. Until
then she is looking forward to another year assisting and at times
playing her favorite role as Tooth Fairy. When Hannah has time away
from work and study, she loves to rollerblade. Before leaving
Lawrence she wants to learn to juggle with fire for the next

Children couldn't wait to show our tooth fairies their
loose teeth. They passed out lots of toothbrushes and
shared advice on how to keep their chompers clean!
Our Office Manager
Ray Munoz has worked to improve access to oral
healthcare for 10 years at DCDC. Congratulations Ray!
